In 2010, after working in the Finance and IT Industry I was offered a position in the welding Industry. My father, a welding engineer, was looking for support, as he was supposed to retire. At that point my mother asked me: ”What do you want to do in Winterthur`s Industry area, when you`ve been working at the Bahnhofstrasse in Zürich (a very chic place in Zürich`s centre)?” I couldn`t answer that question, but from today`s view, it may have been my best decision ever…

I started then as an Assistant in a job shop welding with electron beam. Soon I realised, that I really liked this kind of work, as every day we worked on real parts (not factionary financial or IT products…). I was very often in the lab, learning on the job. My great colleagues were patient teachers and so I learned a lot. Two years later I was given the general manager role.

In 2013 I moved on to a company doing electron beam welding, brazing, thermal spraying, and heat treatments. I was responsible for sales. 2014 I had the chance to work still in Sales for a company that was developing and producing nickel and cobalt-based superalloys. In 2017 I moved on to a company, a leader in the production of welding consumables and equipment for welding and cutting processes.

Since 2020 I`m running Artwelding full-time. The welding industry is my passion and I feel the need for digitalisation of the industry to keep work in Europe and to ensure future welding workforce for European countries.
